Mill shrinkage calculatorFree
Grey metres sent, finished metres back — shrinkage %, metres short, and if it's beyond your normal %, how many metres and rupees you lost.
How it works
Grey fabric shrinks a little at the process house (mill) through washing, dyeing and finishing. How much is normal depends on the quality — so enter your own normal %.
Short = grey metres − finished metresShrinkage % = short ÷ grey metres × 100Beyond normal = short − grey × normal%
Example: 10 takas × 117 m = 1,170 m grey sent, 1,100 m finished back → 70 m short, 5.98%. At a 5% normal, 58.5 m short is fine, so 11.5 m went extra — ₹920 lost at ₹80 / m, on this one lot alone.
That small gap adds up every month at every mill. Loomiro's Mill (RFD) challans and shrinkage report show grey vs finished by mill, quality and lot, with the metres and ₹ lost beyond normal. For mill challans and ITC-04, read the ITC-04 guide.
